CASA Comedy Night!

Volunteers...Child Advocates...Helpers...YOU!

I am for the child who's had seven addresses in a single year.  Because she's in foster care.  Because her father abused her.  And because her mother couldn't believe her.  That is the child I am for.  And because I am, she will be half as likely to languish in foster care, and that much more likely to find a safe, permanent home.  I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteer.  I am you.

YOU ARE NEEDED!!  Next training class began January 17, 2012, 6:00 p.m. in Barrow County, but you can still join if you contact us and attend class on 1/24/12.    Click on "Contact Us".   Night classes don't work for you?  Independent study is available, contact us.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A CASA VOLUNTEER?
CASA volunteers serve as the eyes and ears of the court. You get to know the child and meet with all the important people in their life.  You gather information.  You make written recommendations to the Juvenile Court Judge about what is in the child's best interests.  You focus on the child and on helping them to a safe and permanent home until the case is closed.

For current volunteers:  Peer meetings for 2012:  You can get all 12 hours of your required in-service through attending these meetings:  3/15, 4/17, 5/15, 9/11, 10/11, 11/15, 6:00 p.m., Braselton Police and Court Building, Community Room.
