You Can Help Change a Child’s Story
Piedmont CASA Volunteers have changed the lives of over 1,000 abused and neglected children. A CASA is a Court Appointed Special Advocate. They go into court with these children and speak up for their rights. Children in foster care live in a constant state of flux; the everyday heroes we work alongside make sure these children don’t get lost in the system. These children have been removed from their homes because home is not safe right now. They often move from home to home which means they change schools, change teachers, have to make new friends and acclimate to a new home life with people they’ve only just met.
CASA Volunteers are often the only constant person in their lives.
A CASA Volunteer’s perspective is highly valued by our juvenile court judges throughout the state; so much so, that CASA is written into Georgia’s Juvenile Code and it says that whenever possible, a CASA should be appointed as the Guardian ad Litem for abused and neglected children over the appointment of an attorney Guardian ad Litem. CASA Advocates have only one case at a time so the CASA volunteer has the unique advantage of being able to invest the proper time and attention to truly uncover the services and resources needed to support a family in overcoming challenges they face so our kids can get back to the business of simply being a kid. With your $5,000 partnership, you will receive special recognition as the "Guardian Angel" of CASA the night of the Gala and throughout the year. A displayable appreciation plaque presented the evening of the Gala, highlighting your commitment to CASA and the children of Banks, Barrow, and Jackson Counties. A namesake award presented in your honor at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. Partner spotlights in the CASA quarterly e-newsletter.
